Mounting Instructions for the Post Alert "Slide"

Depending upon your type of mailbox, there may be screw holes already in the appropriate location.  It is recommended that the slide housing be mounted flush with the front of the box door. 

Directions:
1.  Position housing in desired location, keeping bottom edges of slide and box aligned.  Mark screw hole locations on box with pencil, or use full size template to locate holes.
2.  If new screw holes are needed, drill in desired location.  Be sure to support the box while drilling to avoid warping or bending the box.  Use the same size drill bit as the holes in the housing.  (approximately 3/16")
3.  To mount, position housing on the side of mailbox over screw holes, insert machine screws, and tighten nuts.

NOTE:  The slide is easily replaceable if damaged.  It can be done without replacing the black slide housing by fully extending the slide and pinching the top and bottom edges of the slide with slip-joint pliers while pulling the slide out.  Insert the new slide by finger pinching the top and bottom edges while pushing the slide into the black housing.
